Important Notice Regarding Career Services

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, and to ensure the safety of our campus community, Howard University has transitioned to an online and remote instruction format for the remainder of the semester (March 23 to May 8, 2020). During this period of online and remote instruction, faculty and staff have been asked to work remotely.

To ensure that recruitment and other career services continue to be delivered, the Office of Career Services will continue to offer support to students and employers during regular business hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily) in the following ways:



  • Summer Internships, Fellowships, Fulltime Employmentand HU Campus Career Connect Days – All employer events and on-campus interviews, which have not been canceled for the semester, will be conducted virtually. Log on to Handshake to access jobs, internships, and newly posted employer events and interviews. Postings are updated daily. Remember that your user ID is your Howard University email ( HU Campus Career Connect Days will be posted as events on Handshake. RSVP to secure your virtual seat.
  • Mock Interviews – We’re happy to introduce Big Interview – a new Mock Interview learning and practice platform that is available to all Howard University students. This robust resource allows you to complete a series of learning modules and then sharpen your interviewing skills through video interviewing. Record your practice interviews and share them with your mentors, faculty, or career coach to get feedback on your skills. Register with Big Interview to create an account and then log in using your Howard University email ( as your user ID.
  • Curricular Practical Training (CPT Employer Verifications) – International students who will be completing internships during the summer 2020, must complete a CPT Employer Verification before receiving final approval to work in the United States. Email your CPT Employment Verification forms to Mrs. Artemis Koger at After verification has been completed Mrs. Koger will return the signed forms to you via email.
  • Career Education & Coaching – (including Major & Career Exploration, Resume & Cover Letter Reviews/Assistance, LinkedIn Profile Review/Assistance, General Career Coaching –These services have been integrated with Academic Advising in the Center for Academic Excellence and are no longer offered in the Office of Career Services. To request an appointment with a Career Adviser, log on to Bison Adviser, select Academic Advising, select the desired service, and follow the instructions to schedule an appointment with a Career Adviser.
  • Federal Work Study – For questions pertaining to your Federal Work Study job placement direct all emails to
